Radishes in space
HI, NICE TO MEET YOU!
Have a look:
“Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness.”
Thomas Jefferson
I see an undeniable change in the way humans will be growing plants, especially food crops. Vertical indoor farms are currently constructed worldwide and city algae farms are included in modern architectural designs. Vertical indoor farms will be a huge step towards crop cultivation in extravagant environments. NASA is already researching on how to grow plants on the ISS, even in other extraterrestrial conditions such as on Mars. I want to be part of this progression, this is why I am a PhD researcher in plant bioscience engineering. And I want to share my interest with you. This plantscience blog is about everything concerning our future with plants: vertical farming, food security, latest plantscience articles but also some texts about very rare but interesting plant species. Just take a look around!
WHO AM I?
My name is Prisca. I fell in love with plants when I was studying Biology in Leipzig (Germany).
Now I am a bioscience engineering PhD student at the Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven (Belgium). I am working on vertical farming with strawberry.
